Ortoretified images are used to:
collect detailed and updated reference information on the territory, by adopting manual of automatic approaches
have a reference images for continuous monitoring of area of interest
analyse changes occurring over a specific area
use the images as basis for the generation of value added products
e-GEOS can provide a wide range of solutions for the provision of ortoretified images based on Earth Observation data, taking care of the whole service starting from Earth Observation data collection up to the ortoimages delivery. Reference scale for products is normally in the range 1:5.000 – 1:50.000, with resolution depending on the adopted source imagery and ancillary information available. In case of usage of satellite data, resolution can be down to 30 cm according to most recent satellite missions specifications.
More detailed ortoretified images, down to approximately 10 cm, can be produced starting from aerial data where available. Ortoretified images are provided in different output formats, reference systems and specifications according to their usage. Therefore can be provided as seamless colour balanced ortomosaics or map sheets, or as single images when it is needed to maintain the original radiometric content for automatic classification purposes.
e-GEOS provides ortoimages, both from satellite and airplane, generated through high engineered production chains, based on the integration of COTS with customized solutions, allowing a full control of all the processing steps and related quality, as well as allowing a fast delivery of the products. The experience of e-GEOS in satellite data provision, also guarantees the choice of the most appropriate data in input for product generation.
